Software for selfie booths and photo kiosks

Give your booth Windows software that survives the night: a locked guest screen, photo, GIF, boomerang and video-guestbook modes, local printing and sharing, without depending on the venue network.

A locked guest screen, not a Windows desktop

On a booth, the worst outcome is a guest landing on the Windows desktop. Froozbooth opens locked and full screen: the guest only ever sees the booth, and the operator opens settings with a code, without exposing the system.

The modes offered are the ones you enabled for that event. Same for sharing: only the channels you opened appear on screen, so there is no stray “email” button on a booking where you chose not to collect addresses.

Works with the hardware you already own

  • Any webcam recognized by Windows
  • Canon and Nikon DSLRs driven natively
  • Any printer installed under Windows, including DNP and Citizen dye-sub units
  • 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 PC or tablet, native .exe installer

There is no hardware exclusivity and no approved-model list. Cameras from other brands go through the manufacturer webcam utility or a capture card: outside Canon and Nikon, there is no native camera control. DSLR photo booth software for Canon and Nikon: cameras and printers that work

The formats guests ask for

Single shot, multi-frame strip, GIF, boomerang, video guestbook: modes are enabled event by event. The template you lay out in the web editor is exactly the one the booth composites: no re-import, no gap between preview and print. Free photo booth templates

Green screen and AI portraits come on top, event by event: the booth swaps the backdrop behind guests by itself, with no network, or turns the portrait into an 80s disco star or an old master painting. Green screen photo booth

Printing and the local queue

Printing is local, with the copy count and the limit you set for the event, and reprints stay within reach of the operator. Whatever fails stays visible in the queue instead of disappearing quietly. A test pattern checks the framing before the doors open.

From the venue to the cloud

Captures are written to the booth disk first. Cloud sync and emails resume by themselves once the network is back, and every event gets a public gallery hosted in Europe that you can protect with a code.

For booth manufacturers and integrators

If you build or assemble booths, Froozbooth equips a standard Windows workstation: a hardware service separate from the guest screen, an .exe installer, updates included, two machines per license. No constraint on the enclosure, the screen or the printer. Photo booth triggers: buttons, lights and webhooks

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between a photo booth and a selfie booth?

The vocabulary varies more than the machine: “photo booth” usually means an enclosure with a DSLR and a printer, “selfie booth” a lighter station with a webcam and digital sharing. Froozbooth drives both, with the same settings, with or without a printer.

Can I lock the booth so guests cannot leave the app?

Yes. The app opens locked and full screen, and settings sit behind an operator code, so a guest cannot reach the Windows desktop.

Are DNP and Citizen dye-sublimation printers supported?

Yes, through the manufacturer Windows drivers. There is no approved-model list: if the printer prints correctly from Windows, the booth uses it.

Does the booth need internet during the event?

No, once the configuration is synced. Capture, compositing, green screen, printing and QR stay local; emails and the cloud upload wait for the network. Only AI portraits need a connection, and the original photo prints if it drops.

Which languages does the guest screen support?

19 languages, including French, English, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian and German. The language is chosen per event.

Does Froozbooth run on a Mac or an iPad?

Yes, from a browser: the web booth opens on Mac, Chromebook and iPad, with the device camera or a USB webcam. DSLRs and direct printing remain specific to the Windows booth; on iPad, the Froozbooth app adds dialog-free AirPrint. The preparation dashboard also opens in any browser.

What computer do I need for a selfie booth or photo kiosk?

A PC running 64-bit Windows 10 or 11; a laptop, a mini PC or a Windows tablet works fine. Froozbooth installs with a standard .exe installer and runs a separate service for the camera and printer, apart from the guest screen. A disk gauge in the booth shows how many sessions the machine can still hold, so you know before the night whether there is room.

Can guests start the session with a physical button?

Yes. An arcade button, a USB pedal or a presenter remote works with Froozbooth with nothing to set up: a press on the welcome screen starts the session, and on the live view it takes the photo or stops the video. Presses less than 400 ms apart count once, so a bouncing contact does not take two photos.

Can I show the photos on a big screen at the event?

Yes. Froozbooth plays a slideshow of the night’s photos in a separate window, on a wall screen. It reads the event folder on the booth, so it works without a network, and the group that just posed shows up first. You choose newest-first or random order, the duration and the transition, and you can overlay the gallery QR code.

Can I put my logo or my client’s branding on the booth screen?

Yes. The Froozbooth welcome screen takes a title, a subtitle, a logo and an image or video background, dimmed as you like, and the end-of-session message and visual can be set too. Only the capture modes and sharing channels you enabled for the event appear on screen. You can also add an optional watermark with your branding to the photos.

Can I install Froozbooth on a booth I bought from another maker?

Yes, if the booth runs on a 64-bit Windows 10 or 11 PC on which you can install software. Froozbooth installs next to the camera and printer already in place, and nothing forces you to uninstall the other software during the trial. Some booths are sold locked to their maker’s app, so check this before you buy.
